Emmy Awards Ceremony is reported to be postponed amid Hollywood Writers and Actors Strike!
The 75th Emmy Awards ceremony was scheduled to take place on September 18.
However, in the wake of the ongoing Hollywood strikes, the awards ceremony will not be held.
This is the first time the Emmy Awards have been postponed in more than 20 years.
The last time the Emmys were postponed was in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001.
Apart from the Primetime Emmys, the delay will also impact the Creative Arts Emmys, which were scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10.
As reported, a new date for the 2023 ceremony has not been confirmed, but the organizers want to wait until an agreement has been reached with TV companies.
The event’s broadcaster Fox had previously indicated it will not go ahead with the ceremony if either the Writers Guild of America or SAG-AFTRA were still on strike at the end of July.
As reported, the WGA and Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) are currently trying to negotiate with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers over a number of issues, including the use of Artificial Intelligence in productions and a fair split of profits in the age of streaming.
