Social media today in Pakistan is laden with posts related to the Ertugrul Ghazi.

Though the real Ertuğrul Ghazi son of Suleyman Shah died in 1280 AD, but most of Pakistan has been mourning his death since last night.


Those who have watched the complete 5 seasons of the international hit Turkish historical fiction series Diriliş: Ertuğrul have moved on to the other series Kurulus: Osman which is a kind of prequel to the original series.

Kurulus: Osman follows the life of the youngest son of Ertugrul, Osman, the founder of the Ottoman empire.

The latest episode featured the death of Ertugrul Ghazi, which left fans teary-eyed. It seems like fans have developed a particular association with the character after watching hundreds of episodes if we count 5 seasons of Diriliş: Ertuğrul and the first and ongoing seasons Kurulus: Osman.
