Film Durj all set to release in Pakistan on 25 Oct

Shamoon Abbasi’s Durj is all set to release in Pakistan on October 25. The ban on Durj was lifted a day ago after getting clearance from the censor board.

Durj prior to the ban, it was slated for Oct 18 to get released in Pakistan. It was labeled for its inappropriate content, the subject of the film addresses a problem people don’t even know exist, hence it was banned by all censor boards.

But now with this new release date, Durj will be clashing with Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s cross border love story, Kaaf Kangana, which also has a slated release date for Oct 25.

Durj The Casket stars Shamoon Abbasi, Sherry Shah, Maira Khan, Nouman Javaid and Dodi Khan in pivotal roles.

Durj is inspired by true events that occurred in Pakistan in relation to cannibalism. However, the director assured that none of the bloodshed and gore was picturized for it to be banned. It is just an art film showcasing some of the realities of our society.
