Haseena Moin’s demise has left the Pakistani drama fans mourning all over the world.
The iconic dramatist and playwright passed away aged 79 in Karachi on Friday.
Those who grew up watching PTV’s golden era dramas know pretty well what Hassena Moin’s name attached to the title meant.
A deep storyline, strong female character, enlightenment hitting the core of a social issue with words of wisdom, culture; and social values with a touch of humour that’s what made Haseena’s Moin’s dramas outstanding.
Her extraordinary works included Ankahi, Tanhaiyaan, Kiran Kahani, Dhoop Kinaray, Aahat, Uncle Urfi, Shehzori, Kohar, Des Pardes, Pal Do Pal, Aansoo, Kasak, Parchaiyan, and Parosi.
She was also the recipient of the Pride of Performance award for her services to the performing arts in Pakistan.
Her demise is being mourned by millions of Urdu drama fans today. The legacy of entertainment she has left behind will be cherished forever, however, her position will always remain vacant.
With her death, an era of Pakistani dramas comes to its end.
Many fans, colleagues, and Urdu drama lovers took to social media to express their grief and extend prayers for the departed soul.

There were not just the above random messages, many of the Pakistani politicians are also mourning Haseena Moin’s death.
Faisal Javed Khan, Senator PTI -Chairman Standing Committee on Info Broadcasting, in his tweet said: “Saddened to hear of the loss of our great writer Haseena Moin Sehba! (PTI) We grew up watching her spectacular serials like Dhoop Kinaray, Aahat, Ankahi, Tanhaiyaan, Kasak, Parosi & many more. She was my late mother’s favorite writer. May ALLAH rest her soul in peace. Ameen.”
