Here is how Pakistani celebs react to the news of the local version of Netflix
Recently, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry announced about the Pakistan’s first over the top television (OTT) – a “Pakistani version of Netflix” will be launched after PEMRA’s approval.
The federal minister on his tweet wrote, “We are all set to launch Pakistan’s first OTT TV (Pak version of #Netflix). Technology part is complete, have asked PEMRA to prepare a guideline on content and we will be all set to launch in PPP mode, it’ll be just another humble contribution”.
While the social media users have showed their concerns about the content that would be permitted for streaming, Pakistan showbiz celebrities turned to social media to share their thoughts related to the announcement of Netflix’s local version.
Pakistani actor and model, Osman Khalid Butt has expressed his reservations with PEMRA.
“Can literally anyone else prepare the guidelines?” he exclaimed.
Can someone – literally anyone else prepare this content guideline.
Let's not forget PEMRA issued a show-cause notice to Udaari over 'immoral content' because it was highlighting child abuse. https://t.co/S6ZfuOJkUr— Osman Khalid Butt (@aClockworkObi) October 23, 2020
