Joker’s sequel in works at Warner Bros.

Joaquin Phoenix starrer and Todd Phillips-directorial Joker after creating a huge buzz at the worldwide box office is going to get a sequel.
Joker became the first-ever R-rated film to reach the billion-dollar milestone. It becomes the fourth DC film to cross $1 billion mark after Aquaman, The Dark Knight Rises and The Dark Knight.
As being reported, Todd Phillips had a meeting with Warner Bros chairman and walked away with the rights of other DC characters’ origin story apart from a Joker sequel.
However, right before Joker’s release of, Todd Phillips, the director of the global blockbuster had stated that the origin story will be a stand-alone film and he doesn’t plan on making a sequel.
But it seems like the extraordinary success at the box office has changed the director’s and producers’ minds. According to a recent report, Warner Bros has signaled to greenlight the Joker’s sequel with Todd Phillips returning as the director and Joaquin Phoenix as the iconic Batman villain.
As being reported by The Hollywood Reporter, that when it comes to DC characters, Warner Bros had been dealing with one film at a time but multiple deals with Todd Phillips can be credited for the fact that Joker is now the most profitable comic-book movie ever made.
Joker made on a budget of $55 million, has grossed more than a billion-dollar at the worldwide box office.
