Kalank trailer features a grand world of honor and unrequited love
Karan Johar’s magnum opus, Kalank, has been the talk of the town for some time now. The teaser brought about a grand world of honor and unrequited love and the trailer only intensifies the theme, of loss and love that calls for a big sacrifice before it can be requited.
On the surface the story has been laid out, Alia as Roop is married to Dev Chaudhry (Aditya Roy Kapoor). Dev already has a wife, Satya (Sonakshi Sinha). Dev tells Roop he can give her respect but no love as he loves his first wife more than anything. Roop falls for Zafar (Varun Dhawan) claiming she has nothing to lose. However, there’s more at stake than just the reputation of the Chaudhry’s if Roop is involved with Zafar. There’s love, there’s romance, there’s passion and aggression all fueling the fire burning bright in Roop and Zafar.
Will they be together? What would it cost for the two to be together? Will Roop sacrifice her honor and her status and ultimately be banished for life? Will Zafar be able to survive the rebellious fire he onsets being involved with Roop? Kalank will answer so much and more with its release.
Directed by Abhishek Varman and starring Sanjay Dutt, Kunal Khemu, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in pivotal roles, Kalank releases on 17th April all over.
The fate of the film in Pakistan remains undecided as yet. Nevertheless, the film promises to bring fine performances to the screen, after a long, flop spell from Bollywood bigwigs that is.
