Kumail Nanjiani is part of this star studded voice cast for Doctor Dolittle

The newest adaptation of Hugh Lofting’s “Doctor Dolittle” book series, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, has confirmed a fantastic voice cast featuring some of the most favorite actors in Hollywood and Pakistani-American comedian/actor Kumail Nanjiani. Nanjiani will be Plimpton, an ostrich, along the likes of Robert Downey Jr, who’ll be starring in the titular role.

Robert Downey Jr.,  took to social media and revealed the full list of start cast along with which characters they’ll be playing in his tweet.

The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle is an adventure story about a doctor with the strange ability to speak to animals. Based particularly on the second book in Lofting’s series of children’s stories, it was memorably adapted for the screen as a musical led by Rex Harrison in 1967.

We all remember a more of a modern take on the Dolittle character came about in the late 1990s starting with an Eddie Murphy starrer, Dr. Dolittle hit in 1998 which was followed by four sequels.

Kumail Nanjiani who was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars for The Big Sick, continues his ascent to big screen glory as part of the star studded cast of Doctor Dolittle. This movie is scheduled to be released in April next year.

Two days before this news confirmation tweed by Robert Downey Jr., Kumail tweeted this photo; maybe he knew what was coming ahead. It’s not an ostrich but now it makes sense.
