Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb title changed after legal notice

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming Bollywood film Laxmmi Bomb has been served with a legal notice.

Days before the release of the film on Disney+ Hotstar, a legal notice was sent from Rajput Karni Sena, demanding the filmmakers to change the title terming it “derogatory” and “offensive” towards Hindu Goddess Laxmi.

Owing to the legal notice, makers of the upcoming horror comedy film have decided to change the film’s title. It will now be called Laxmii.

The film had been facing objections from several Hindu groups who associated the title derogatory term like a bomb to be named with a Hindu goddess.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the title changed in a tweet, saying “New development: Laxmmi Bomb title changed. New title: Laxmii”.

Akshay essays a transgender in the remake of the Tamil blockbuster “Muni 2: Kanchana”.

The film, directed by Raghava Lawrence, is slated to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 9 November.
