Meet the new Chucky!

Who doesn’t remember the iconic horror film Child’s Play, the 1988 Hollywood film. Which left hundreds of people terrified of playing with dolls. The main character of the film was a doll name ‘Chucky’. The Child’s Play Remake has officially kicked off production, as announced by MGM and Orion Pictures.

The news for the Chucky fans is that the famous film is getting its reboot, and the new look of the main character of this film Chucky has been shared by the film makers.

The Child’s Play series has been running for 30 years. Till date, there have been seven Child’s Play movies. The original first film was released in 1988, which was a massive hit. Lars Klevberg is in the director’s chair for the remake. He previously directed the currently unreleased horror movie ‘Polaroid’. The script is penned by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2).

Producer of the film Seth Grahame-Smith was still a kid when he first saw 1988’s Child’s Play.  He said, “I was just 12-year-old when the ’88 movie came out, it scared the hell out of me. I watched it again and again. It’s a special movie for me.”

This new reboot version of the film stars Aubrey Plaza as a mother who gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature, just like the original Child’s Play franchise. The film co-stars Atlanta actor Brian Tyree Henry.
