Both films have been nominated for best picture, alongside “Black Panther,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “A Star Is Born,” “Vice,” and “Green Book.”

Black Panther becomes the first comic book movie to earn a Best Picture Oscars nomination. It has also earned nominations for best costume design, production design, sound editing, sound mixing, original score and original song

Popular musical romance “A Star Is Born” received eight nominations, though star and filmmaker Bradley Cooper was notably denied a nod for his directing debut.
