Although Load Wedding couldn’t do much business in Pakistan (that’s another controversy altogether) the film did manage to earn critical acclaim for its storyline, its sarcastic humor and of course top notch direction and performances by its lead cast. Starring the versatile Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat in the lead, Load Wedding, was recently nominated for the Best Feature Film (international) category at the prestigious Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) in India and has now won the award.
Impressing the jury with its storyline and performances, Load Wedding, went on to grab the jury award in the Best Feature Film (International) category.
Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) is the biggest Academic and Glamour Film Festival in Rajasthan, India. The festival is held annually and screens a number of films from all walks of life and around the world.
Sharing their excitement about the big win, Fizza Ali Meerza, CEO Filmwala Pictures, stated to a leading daily, “We are extremely thrilled that our hard work is getting recognized internationally. We always believe in working with stories that has a positive message to give back to society and portrayal of a positive image of Pakistan worldwide. This is the first award Load Wedding won since the release, and we are sure it’s the first of many.
“It’s always a very pleasant feeling to see your work being recognized and acknowledged. Load Wedding is a film very different from all the other films I have done and also very special to me. I’m very happy to be honored by this award from RIFF’ 2019,” said Nabeel Qureshi, director Load Wedding.
