Pasoori Becomes First Coke Studio Song to Surpass 1 Billion Streams on YouTube Music

Producer Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan aka Xulfi also celebrated the achievement on social media, expressing gratitude to fans for their support

The song “Pasoori,” performed by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, has become the first track from Coke Studio to surpass 1 billion streams on YouTube Music.

This milestone was reportedly achieved on January 27, 2025, and streams continue to count. 

This accomplishment marks a significant success for Pakistani music on a global platform, showcasing its widespread appeal and cultural impact.

Producer Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan aka Xulfi also celebrated the achievement on social media, expressing gratitude to fans for their support and calling it an “unbelievable blessing” in his journey of creating global hits from Pakistan.

Xulfi wrote, “Life has been an incredible and unpredictable experience. And THIS happening during this journey is an unbelievable blessing. A Billion Global Streams for Pasoori on YouTube and YouTube Music. The first Coke Studio song to reach a billion.”

Released in February 2022 as part of Coke Studio’s Season 14, “Pasoori” blends traditional and contemporary musical elements, contributing to its viral success. The song has also been recognized as the most-watched Coke Studio music video of all time, with over 820 million views prior to reaching the billion-stream milestone.

The song’s success has elevated Shae Gill to international fame, and it continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. It was featured in the Disney+ miniseries Ms. Marvel and has inspired a Hindi remake titled “Pasoori Nu” for the film Satyaprem Ki Katha.

This achievement underscores the growing influence of Pakistani music on the global stage, reflecting its unique artistry and appeal.
