PEMRA issues warning to Tere Bin creators over inappropriate content in Episode-47

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a warning to Tere Bin creators over inappropriate’ content in Episode 47.

The notice urges Geo Entertainment and the creators of Tere Bin to immediately remove the objectionable material and warned them to avoid any such occurrences in the future or else the regulatory body will take action against the creators.

According to a press release issued on PEMRA’s official Twitter account, ‘Episode No. 47 of the drama serial aired inappropriate content which is in clear violation of several clauses of PEMRA rules and Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015’.

PEMRA has warned that if the order is not obeyed, action will be taken against the channel.

It may be recalled that the drama caused controversy on social media when the teaser of Episode 47 of the drama hinted at marital rape between Murtasim and Meereb.

After the same teaser, the producers and writers of the drama faced severe backlash on social media for several days.

It is being speculated that the makers have re-edited Episode-47 which seems nothing but a failed attempt of covering up the mess which has already been created.

Fans on social media platforms expressed surprise at the ‘unexpected twist’ in the drama, saying that the ‘story of the drama has been changed’.

Keen viewers were also alleging that some scenes from the drama were deleted, and Murtisam and Mireb’s scenes were allegedly accompanied by ‘WhatsApp quality’ voice-overs.

This criticism was still going on in social media that 2 days after the release of the episode of Tere Bin, PRMRA issued a warning notice to Geo Entertainment.

Reacting to PEMRA’s tweet on social media, users criticized that ‘Pemra took too long to issue notice’, and one user wrote that ‘the episode has changed, nothing is controversial now’.

It may be recalled that ‘Tere Bin’ is being aired on Geo TV from December 2022. The drama stars Bushra Ansari, Wahaj Ali, Yamuna Zaidi and Hara Soomro, Sabina Farooq, Fazila Qazi, and Farhan Ali Agha among others. Is.

The main story of the drama revolves around the characters of Wahaj Ali (Murtasim) and Yamuna Zaidi (Meereb), who play the role of a married couple but shows the conflicts, misunderstandings, love, and tension between them.
