Project Ghazi to release on 29th March now!

Ever since the Pulwama Attack, tensions between India and Pakistan have been ripe. Following the escalating tensions amongst the two neighbors, Cinema Exhibitors Association in Pakistan called out for a complete ban on Indian films screening in Pakistan.

Following the ban, there is a possibility that Pakistani cinema industry can suffer a great deal. However in solidarity with the industry and to ensure footfall doesn’t decrease, cinemas have been re-screening old Pakistani films. Although our film industry is progressing, we’ll still have trouble surviving on only our own films for now.

Considering the situation and in a gesture of goodwill the makers of Project Ghazi pulled out of the race of releasing their film on the 22nd of March alongside Sherdil and Laal Kabootar. The post was shared on the official Facebook page for Project Ghazi.

“In light of the prevalent situation and in support of Pakistani Cinema we have decided to release Project Ghazi on the 29th of March 2019. We wish Sher Dil and Laal Kabootar a successful flight and all the best for the 22nd,” read the post.

This is a rather sane decision on the part of Project Ghazi makers. The film will now release alone on the 29th of March, allowing a margin to Laal Kabootar and Sherdil to earn their footfall, before competing in the race for numbers.

A sci-fi thriller and a superhero film, Project Ghazi stars Humayun Saeed, Sheheryar Munawar and Syra Shahroze in pivotal roles.
