PTA approaches social media platforms for removal of trailers regarding sacrilegious film “Lady of Heaven”

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has approached social media platforms for the removal of trailers regarding a sacrilegious film titled “Lady of Heaven”.

The Lady of Heaven” is a film by the Enlightened Kingdom Company about Hazrat Fatima (SA) the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

“Keeping in view different reports regarding release of the movie ‘Lady of Heaven’ & its sacrilegious content, PTA has directed social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, etc. for the immediate blocking of content related to the movie from their platforms”, says PTA in a statement.

According to PTA so far, 336 URLs containing promo of the said movie have been reported to different platforms.

Directed by Eli King, the film tells the story of an Iraqi child in the midst of a war-torn country, where he learns the importance and power of patience. After losing his mother, the child finds himself in a new home, where a loving grandmother narrates the life story of Hazrat Fatima (SA) and how her suffering as the first victim of terrorism spun out of control into the 21st century.

The film focuses on the crimes of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, in which the historical events related to Hazrat Fatima (SA) have also been depicted after 1400 years.

Sheikh Al-Habib, a Kuwaiti Shia Muslim cleric and the head of the London-based Khoddam Al-Mahdi Organization, has written the screenplay.

His Kuwaiti citizenship was revoked in September 2010, Al-Habib angered Sunni Muslims by calling Aisha “an enemy of God”. The Kuwaiti authorities accused him of trying to stir up discord among Muslims.

The events led the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei helping calm tensions between Shia and Sunni Muslims by issuing a fatwa banning the making of any remarks insulting to the wives of prophets, including the Prophet Muhammad (PBUM).
