Robbie Williams biopic ‘Better Man’ to kick off shooting in Australia

Robbie Williams’s biopic ‘Better Man’ to kick off shooting in Australia!

The project was confirmed Friday by Australia’s federal government and the Victoria state authorities.

Biopic to be filmed in Melbourne as part of ‘$80 million deal’ to inject money into Australia’s film industry, reportedly.

As being reported, the filming will begin in Melbourne, Australia in early 2022 with Michael Gracey (“The Greatest Showman”) in the director’s chair.

As being reported, the film, titled Better Man, will chart the star’s life from 16-year-old Take That singer to worldwide superstar and ‘explore his demons’ along the way.

“As for how we represent Robbie in the film, that bit is top secret. I want to do this in a really original way,” Gracey told Deadline in an exclusive interview.

“Unlike some people who were born prodigies or musical geniuses and you follow the narrative of the world catching up to their brilliance, this isn’t that story,” Australian director Gracey said.

“Robbie is that Everyman, who just dreamed big and followed those dreams and they took him to an incredible place. Because of that, his is an incredibly relatable story.”

Singer-actor, Williams regarded as one of the U.K.’s most prominent entertainers and one of the best-selling artists of all time, is expected to appear as himself, with some of his songs re-interpreted and recontextualized in the film.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Robbie Williams became an overnight sensation with boyband Take That in 1990.

“I’m so excited I am making this movie in Victoria with my friend Michael Gracey,” said Williams.

As being reported, Robbie will temporarily relocate to Melbourne, and security guards have been inspecting several mansions in the city for the singer.

The project is being considered as a much welcoming economic activity in post covid time.

The film production is expected to create around 2,200 local jobs, including 14 local heads of department, 80 visual effects practitioners, and 220 crew.

In addition, there will be more than 2,700 extras and casuals and work will be created for an estimated 300 local businesses and service providers.
