Robert Pattinson the new Batman for Warner Bros?

According to Variety Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to play “The Batman” in Warner Bros’ forthcoming superhero flick, by Matt Reeves. The film’s release date has been set on June 25, 2021 with the pre production set to behin this summer.

According to sources by Variety, the deal with Pattinson hasn’t been locked yet but is expected to close shortly.

Matt Reeves, will be producing The Batman, with his collaborator from “Planet of the Apes” Dylan Clark.

After Ben Affleck left in January 2017, Reeves assumed the directing duties for The Batman and has been working on the project for two years now and him being allowed to pick his own Bruce Wayne.

If finalized for the role, Pattinson will become the second youngest actor to play Batman on screen after Christian Bale, who assumed the role when he was only 31 in Batman Begins, back in 2005.

On the work front, Robert Pattinson is all set to work on another project for Warner Bros, Christopher Nolan’s event movie co-starring John David Washington. He will also be seen in Claire Denis’ “High Life,” Robert Eggers’ “The Lighthouse,” “The King” for Netflix and “Waiting for the Barbarians” this year.
