Saif Ali Khan’s Adipurush comments leads to an apology after backlash

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan on Sunday has issued a statement to apologise for his Adipurush comments.

It was a few days ago when the actor has said that his upcoming film Adipurush was going to show the ‘humane’ side of Ravan.

‘We will make Ravan humane, justify his abduction of Sita’, said Saif Ali Khan on his role of ‘Lankesh’ in the upcoming movie ‘Adipurush’

His statement was not welcomed at all by the Indian Hindus and BJP leader Ram Kadam issued a statement where he said that the BJP won’t tolerate if any attempts are made to hurt Hindu sentiments.

In his statement, Saif Ali Khan said, “I’ve been made aware that one of my statements during an interview, has caused controversy and hurt people’s sentiments. This was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologise to everybody and withdraw my statement.”

“Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness & Heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions,” he added.

According to the Hindu religious beliefs, Ravan is King of Lanka, a character in Hindu history, Who is the primary antagonist of the Hindu epic Lord Ramayana.

BJP leader Ram Kadam took to social media to issue a statement hitting actor Saif Ali Khan and the film’s director.

The upcoming Bollywood flick is being directed by Om Raut and also stars Prabhas in the lead role.

Saif Ali Khan’s remarks ignited backlash on social media, many came demanding to remove the actor from the film.
