Children’s favorite Sesame Street is coming back next week with a very special episode for children stuck at homes during Coronavirus lockdown. Set to go on air on April 14, the 30-minute long episode will features celebrity guests Anne Hathaway and Tracee Ellis Ross.
The show titled Sesame Street: Elmo’s Playdate will showcase the popular Elmo alongside Cookie Monster and other muppets. The celebrity guests would sing songs, play games and engage in activities as children remain homebound due to the pandemic.
“We hope Sesame Street: Elmo’s Playdate will entertain and delight families at a moment when so many are feeling isolated and overwhelmed by current events,” said Steve Youngwood, President of Sesame Workshop.
The episode will be joint collaboration of Sesame Workshop and Warner Media who will air the show on HBO, PBS Kids, and other WarnerMedia television channels. After airing in the US initially, the special episode will also be aired in Australia, Canada, and the UK at later dates.
