Sherdil gears up for release in Russia

Pakistani films are certainly leaving a mark in the foreign market. We say this because we have our films, short stories, documentaries and feature films releasing across international markets and premiering at film festivals globally. In fact, Pakistani films have been winning awards at international film festivals as well.

After Teefa in Trouble, this time, its the Pakistani film, Sherdil, that is all set to tap the Russian market. The film recently screened at the “Moscow Film Festival” after Teefa In Trouble, is now gearing up for a release in cinemas across the country.

Talking about the film’s release in Russia with EPK, producer and writer Sherdil, Noman Khan stated, “We usually don’t come to Russia considering it an unknown land but people here are quite hungry for entertainment. When an Indian film opens here then the first-day audience is 10% Russian and 90% Indian, but by the end of the weekend, the Russian footfall climbs up to 50% because they are so fond of films.”

Sherdil will release across Russia in the first half of 2020, probably by February. According to his interview with EPK, Noman Khan shared that he had already spoken to Council General and sponsors there.

“It will be a great thing if we can release Pakistani films in Russia. I am glad this is being well received here in Russia and the people of Pakistan as well. More filmmakers should come here,” said Noman Khan.
