Shooting for Sacred Games season 2 begins in South Africa

Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who plays Guruji in Sacred Games has arrived in Cape Town, South Africa to shoot for the second season of Sacred Games. The series was one of Netflix’s original became the biggest hit last year.
Though the series is Indian production, the streaming site had revealed earlier that two out of three viewers of the series were from outside India.

Those who have watched season 1, know that it ended with the cliffhanger, few days left to save the city!
According to the makers, the second season will see Sartaj Singh played by Saif Ali Khan, in pursuit to save the city. Ganesh Gaitonde played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has his tracks left behind for Sartaj Singh, to retain his position as the don of Mumbai.

This season will witness a few new faces and some from the previous season will make a comeback. There was an intro given by Ganesh about his three fathers in the first episode of the season, two of his fathers were shown in the first season.

Guruji, the third father is going to have more play in the upcoming season, about whom we don’t know much yet. In the previous installment, Pankaj was seen in a brief but prominent role of Guruji, a mentor to Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character.

Earlier talking to the news agency about his character, Pankaj Tripathi told, “My character was kind of kept hidden. I shot for the series for just one day after the main shooting was over. They thought ‘Let’s bring this character into the light’. Initially, that was not the plan. Something happened that they didn’t announce this differently and I am not someone who likes tom-tomming. It was a small role in the beginning, so we did not promote it as if it were a main one in the first season”.

While Saif Ali Khan was spotted shooting for the show in December last year.
