Netflix has officially announced the premiere date for Squid Game Season 3, confirming it will debut on June 27, 2025.

This announcement was made during the “Next on Netflix” event, held on January 29, 2025, where Netflix also unveiled a new poster and several stills from the upcoming season.

The series will continue to follow Seong Gi-hun, portrayed by Lee Jung-Jae, as he confronts the challenges posed by the Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun. The narrative is expected to delve deeper into Gi-hun’s quest to dismantle the deadly game organization.

The new poster features a pink guard dragging a bloodied contestant toward a coffin adorned with a pink ribbon. This imagery evokes the show’s signature tension and foreshadows the intense challenges ahead.

The released images show protagonist Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-Jae) in handcuffs, alongside other characters, including Yong Sik and his mother Geum Ja, gathered around the ominous coffin. Additional stills highlight returning characters like No Eul and the Front Man.

In addition to the main series, Netflix has confirmed the return of “Squid Game: The Challenge,” a reality competition inspired by the show. This spin-off will feature 456 participants from around the world competing for a grand prize of $4.56 million.

“Squid Game” revolves around a mysterious survival competition with a grand prize of 45.6 billion won (around $34.5 million) at stake.

After the massive success of its first season, “Squid Game 2” became Netflix’s third most-watched season, amassing an impressive 68 million views upon release. It set a new record for the most views in a premiere week and dominated the Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) list in 92 countries.
