‘Hum Dono’ by Strings is soothingly romantic!

Strings; one of the pioneers in the music industry of Pakistan, and undoubtedly the only band left from the 90’s, released their 5th single yesterday which is an addition to their album ’30’. This is their 6th studio album. The title of the album ’30’ marks the years that have passed since the formation of the band, Thirty Whole Years!

Strings have been known for riding a new, unique wave of Pakistani pop music which was then followed by the overall restoration of Pakistani music industry.

Strings released ‘Hum Dono’ yesterday which is the fifth release of their ongoing album ’30’. The song features Natasha Noorani on vocals while the video stars real-life couple Hasnain Lehri and Sabeeka Imam who recently publicized their relationship status.

‘Hum Dono’ is a nonchalant, romantic yet a delicately energetic song which is perfectly filled with emotions. According to Strings, “Hum Dono’ reminds us to slow down in these fast paced times in order to capture timeless moments with our loved ones.”

And no doubts about that, the song actually sounds beautiful! If you listen to it with your eyes closed, you are surely going to feel at peace. The intro of the song is very catchy, followed by some excellent lower notes that will surely give you goosebumps. Faisal Kapadia’s voice sounds really enchanting while Natasha Noorani’s vocals give the song a perfect harmony, giving the song more depth. Lyrics are written by Bilal Maqsood and we can easily say that the words very impressively explain the theme of the song.

When I listened to the song for the first time, it didn’t get me head over heels right away. But as I kept listening to it, I certainly got more into it. It actually gives you a very soothing effect, the more you’d listen to this song, the more you’re going to be feeling drawn towards it. And I kind of got a ‘Duur’ vibe from this song. If you listen to both the songs one after the other, you’ll surely get the point.

Now let’s talk about the video. Well, the video was already a hit when we came to know that it stars the gorgeous real-life couple. Since they already make a sizzling pair, it was great to see such great chemistry between them in the video. And it was very smart of Strings and team to have got them in the video, since a real-life couple can represent the emotions the song carries in a picture-perfect way. The mild, sepia/black and white effect in the visual adds more depth and meaning to the song. That’s one great work done on the video.
