Netflix’s popular drama The Crown based on the longest reigning monarch of United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II has entered its fourth year and the teaser for the much awaited season is out. Focusing on the doomed love story of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, the teaser has already set the mood for the season which clearly will revolve around the tragic love story.
Narrated by Archbishop of Canterbury, Robert Runcie who officiated Diana and Charles wedding, the trailer released on Tuesday begins on words of the Archbishop which aptly put in the context of the upcoming season.
“Here is the stuff of which fairy tales are made: a prince and princess on their wedding day,” Runcie says who also made a memorable prayer in the 1981 wedding of the couple. “But fairy tales usually end at this point — with the simple phrase: They lived happily ever after,” the irony reflects as to how events then unfolded for the prince and his princess.
In addition to the whirlwind romance and then historic wedding of Charles, the Olivia Colman starrer drama will also see Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson) taking up the office of the PM. Josh O’Connor will reprise his role as Charles while Emma Corin will be playing Diana. The new season will be hitting Netflix on November 15.
