Netflix has halted the production of the much anticipated second season of The Witcher series following four positive COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
Production of the fantasy drama’s Season 2 of “The Witcher” was underway at the Arborfield Studios, located in the west of London, England.
As being reported, four crew members tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
After the crew’s positive reports, Netflix will do an isolated round of testing for everyone associated with the show’s production.
Reportedly, none of the lead cast members have tested positive and are currently in isolation.
Production of the series was also paused back in March, when actor Kristofer Hivju, who plays the character of Nivellen, tested positive, and it resumed filming on August. 17.
The series is Polish fantasy drama based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski.
“Set in an elven world — 1200 years before the world of The Witcher — Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one,” Netflix said in a statement earler.
However the relase date of Season 2 is not announced yet.
The star cast of the show featuers Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allen as Ciri, Eamon Farren as Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Joey Batey as Jaskier, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia de Vries, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla Vigo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara, Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold and Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz of Roggeveen.
