Vasay Chaudhry appointed vice chairman of Punjab Film Censor Board

While 'The Legend Of Maula Jatt' producer Ammara Hikmat has been appointed as a non-official member.

Vasay Chaudhry has been appointed vice chairman of Punjab Film Censor Board, it emerges on Wednesday.

Writer and Actor Vasay Chaudhry is now the vice chairman of the Punjab Film Censor Board, according to a notice issued by the Government of Punjab’s Information and Culture Department.

The notification issued in this regard dated November 18, stated: “Government of the Punjab, in pursuance of provision contained under Section-3 Sub-section 2 and 3 of the Motion Picture Ordinance, 1979, adopted vide Punjab Motion Pictures Amendment Act, 2012 (X of 2013), is pleased to constitute the following Punjab Film Censor Board, with immediate effect.”

Furthermore, Punjab Film and Censor Board also appointed The Legend of Maula Jatt producer Ammara Hikmat as a non-official member.

The new board has been constituted for the coming two years.

As reported, five official members including Chaudhry Gull Zaman as chairman, Vasay Chaudhry as vice chairman, and secretary of the information and culture department will be an official members.

As reported, the seven nonofficial members will be at the helm of the board, including Ammara Hikmat, Juggan Kazim, Abid Rasheed, Ali Tanveer, Zaigham Gondal, and Fatima Ahmad Khan.
