What age is Arya Stark? Fans anxious after raunchy scene in Game of Thrones S8-E2

The second episode of the highly-anticipated HBO’s Game of Thrones season 8 aired on Sunday. It surprisingly featured a steamy Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) willingly losses her virginity to Gendry (Joe Dempsie).

When Maisie Williams first appeared in Game of Thrones as Arya stark in 2011,  she was just 11-years old. And many fans still perceive her as a child despite her character’s age growth in the series which spans over 8 seasons.

However, Arya Stark is now 18 years old in the 8th and final season of the fantasy series. Massie Williams in actual is 22-years old.

As Arya Stark tells Gendry that she “wants to know what it feels like” before they face the battle against the Night King and the very real possibility of death. Many of the viewers started to feel awkward and many all across the globe started surfing the internet to find out How old is Arya Stark?

HBO also appeared to preempt the concern about the scene with a tweet ahead of the episode ‘Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ airing, which charted what one might have expected to have achieved by the age of 18 in Westeros and referencing the achievements of Arya Stark.

Not everyone was smart enough to get what HBO has been hinting at. As soon as the episode ended, fans started searching for the character.

Maisie Williams has recently addressed the scene in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. The actress revealed that initially, she thought it was a prank by showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss.

“At first, I thought it was a prank,” she said. “I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [they were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’” she added.
She also revealed that she was given complete control over how much or little to reveal of herself during the scene.

“David and Dan were like: ‘You can show as much or as little as you want,’” she said, further adding: “So I kept myself pretty private. I don’t think it’s important for Arya to flash. This beat isn’t really about that.”
