The ‘wink girl’ Priya Prakash Varrier; almost broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s record
Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier has become an internet sensation over night after a small clip of her debut movie ‘Oru Adaar Love’ has taken social media by storm. Social media was flooded with appreciations about the music and the performance of debutant actors featured in the video. Now being famously identified as the ‘wink girl’, ever since the clip became public, her social media accounts have witnessed tremendous growth of followers, so close to the record of superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
At 3.5 million followers, the 18 year old has now become the third celebrity around the world to get more than 600k followers on Instagram in 24 hours, after Renaldo and television celebrity Kylie Jenner who sit above her.
On Instagram Varrier has managed to gather a stunning number of fan base, already over 60k followers and more than 250,000 fans on Facebook, she is all of a sudden in line of big celebrities.

The song is also trending high on YouTube which gathered more than 1 million views and 50,000 likes in just few hours and the count is still on.
The girl’s expressions have become the talk of town. It’s all over the social media not just the original video clip, but also the memes which are trending all across. Ever since she revealed about her favorite Indian cricketers, the Twitteratti wasted no time in responding to this and uploaded memes of cricketers like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli.

But with fame comes some trouble, an FIR was lodged against her for allegedly hurting Muslims sentiments, just after a few days after taking over the internet. As being reported a man and his friends from Hyderabad, India has filed an FIR against Priya and the makers of the song for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The complaint was reportedly filed as the song was translated making them realize that it contains lyrics about Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) in a derogatory way. The song was immediately imposed as to have blasphemous material.
