Coronavirus: Met Gala 2020 Postponed as Virus Spreads Across US

Following in the suit of major schedule changes due to Coronavirus, Met Gala 2020 has also been postponed as the virus spreads across California, US. This year’s event host and editor in chief of Vogue Anna Wintour announced the decision in one of her opinion pieces at the magazine’s website.

“The gala will not be held on its usual date, the first Monday in May, due to the unavoidable and responsible decision by the Metropolitan Museum to close its doors,” wrote Anna.

Earlier last Thursday, The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Exhibit where the biggest fashion event takes place had announced the closure of its doors till April 4. The decision came as two employees showed symptoms of Covid-19.

The museum had also announced that events after May 15 will be postponed or canceled, given the situation of the virus.
