March 23 will always be an auspicious day in the history of Pakistan due to its monumental historic significance. Every year, not only this date commemorates the initiation of a great movement that eventually changed the face of the sub-continent and opens the floodgates of proud memories for the patriots of Pakistan, but also brings honor and recognition to those who are either currently serving our great country or served it in the past.
March 23, 2018 will be no different.
This year too, President Mamnoon Hussain, as is the case every year, has announced to confer Pakistan’s most prestigious awards, Pakistan Civil Awards, on 141 Pakistanis as well as foreigners for making their mark in various walks of life such as science, technology, engineering, welfare, literature, arts, sports and media.
To name a few, Shahid Khan Afridi and Misbah-ul-Haq will be awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Also, posthumously, which is bound to be a bittersweet moment for their loved ones, Junaid Jamshed and Asma Jahangir will be awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Nishan-i-Imtiaz respectively.
