Design Powerhouse MAHGUL all set to showcase bridal collection ‘Tales of Bijin’

MAHGUL is all set to unveil her latest bridal collection titled ‘Tales of Bijin’ closing day-2 of PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2019.

‘Tales of Bijin’ is based on the power & magic of love & beauty. The collection is inspired by folklore where it is said that in land East of the Sun, at a time immemorial, deep darkness covered the realms of men and spirits alike. A stagnant decay pervaded the hearts of all those who entered. Until one day a beauty bloomed into existence that shone so bright it blinded all those around it by its sheer brilliance.

Clad in drapery so fine the world had never seen before and radiating serenity it moved through the lands, warming the hearts of all those it touched. Once the world had been cleared of darkness — her mission accomplished — she lay down in a meadow wrote odes to beauty and love.

These “Tales of Bijin” were carried across the Seven Seas, personifying beauty, art, and goodness. Her scrolls might have been lost but her fanciful stories carried wherever the winds and poets took them.

Speaking on her upcoming collection, Mahgul has said, “This collection is deeply embedded in the philosophy that love and beauty conquer all. Designed as clean and bold in equal measure, the Tales of Bijin plays on the contrast in its motifs and mixing of cultural elements with minimal embellished silhouettes. Expect looks built up on texture using various textiles.”

Established in 2014, MAHGUL is critically acclaimed as one of the Sub-Continent’s most exciting fashion brands, having debuted at the prestigious PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week platform in 2013. The brand is best known for its edgy, avant-garde interpretation of Pakistani design. Their vision is for each creation to juxtapose elements of fine art with high-end fashion. The design house believes in dynamism and change and works closely with craftsman to achieve new surfaces and provide work that is unique and evolutionary.
