K-Pop star Chaeyoung has issued an apology day after wearing a t-shirt with a Nazi swastika sign.
Earlier she sparked criticism for wearing a shirt with a logo for the far-right QAnon conspiracy theory.
Though Chaeyoung, 23, quickly deleted a photo of herself in a T-shirt with a swastika from social media. But the internet never forgets.
Chaeyoung in another photo was spotted wearing a shirt have a large ‘Q’ print decorated with an American flag, which is the hallmark of the conspiracy theory group QAnon.
Twice’s Chaeyoung issued an apology in an Instagram post and vowed to ‘pay absolute attention’ when dressing in the future.
“Hello, this is Chaeyoung from Twice. I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post. I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore,” she said in a statement, written in both English and Korean.
‘I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it, causing concern. I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again,’ the K-pop rapper and singer added.
Netizens were quick to point out that Chaeyoung — one of nine members of the girl group Twice wearing clothes having controversial signs.
Though Chaeyoung’s apology notably did not apologize for wearing the QAnon shirt.
