Meghan Markle Hated Her Wedding Dress and Royal Dress Code

Rumors of Meghan Markle’s rebellious royal life continue to make rounds in the news even after she has moved oceans apart from the Firm. In the latest spill of beans by an insider, it’s revealed that the Duchess hated her wedding dress – designed in accordance with the royal dress code – so much so that she grew a general dislike of the royal dressing norms.

Meghan preferred a “more casual attire, rather than her royal dress code” and used to “spend most of the day in sweats or yoga pants” even as a working royal, the source shared with a tabloid.

“She hated always having to be dressed to the nines as a royal and the old-fashioned rules and regulations — like wearing dresses below the knee,” said the source.

Her rebellious nature also came in to play as she spotted denim jeans and top at Wimbledon 2019 and clearly stood in stark contrast with the other royal family members including Kate Middleton. According to W! Magazine, the same jeans was the reason Meghan was denied access to the royal box at the event.

The dislike did not limit to dresses only, in footwear as well the Duchess of Sussex liked to wear “flats and sneakers on a day-to-day basis” instead of the usually considered royal appropriate court shoes or high heels.
