Melania Trump: First Lady’s Iconic Fashion Turns Heads

Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, has made notable headlines with her fashion choices, particularly during the inauguration of her husband, Donald Trump, as the 47th President on January 20, 2025.

Melania Trump made a striking return to the national spotlight, donning a custom navy silk wool outfit designed by Adam Lippes during her husband Donald Trump’s inauguration. The ensemble featured a tailored double-breasted coat, a matching pencil skirt, and an ivory silk crepe blouse, complemented by a chic boater-style hat by Eric Javits.

This fashion statement not only highlighted her sophisticated style but also signalled a potential shift towards supporting American designers, contrasting with her previous choices during her first term.

Lippes expressed pride in showcasing American craftsmanship through Melania’s outfit, which is expected to have a substantial price tag, with similar coats priced over $3,600.

However, Melania Trump’s hat appeared to get in the way, when Donald Trump leaned in to kiss her following the inauguration.

For the inaugural balls, Melania changed into a strapless white silk dress designed by Hervé Pierre, featuring thick black bands that zig-zagged across her torso and extended to the floor.

This gown highlighted her elegant style and continued her collaboration with Pierre, who has been a key designer for her throughout her public life.

Melania Trump’s fashion choices have often sparked discussions about their implications and messages. Her recent selections signal a potential shift towards supporting American brands and independent labels, contrasting with her earlier reliance on European designers during her husband’s first term.

Fashion experts note that the First Lady’s style plays a crucial role in shaping public perception and setting the tone for her tenure.
