Twitter hosts a meme gala following Kim Kardashian’s interpretation of this year’s theme “Celebrating In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion”.

The much-anticipated post-pandemic fashion event returns to New York this year.

Though the red carpet event saw celebs dressed in red, silver, and blue arriving at the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps, Kim Kardashian, wearing Balenciaga, turned heads by dressing entirely in black, with even her face covered in thick black fabric has sent some shock waves in the fashion world.

Even the attendees were perplexed to see her companion, a man wearing a blackout hoodie, and everyone initially thought him to be her estranged husband Kanye West.

However, Vogue.com clarified later it was Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia.

Her appearance has kept the keyboard warriors busy all night, flooding Twitter with all sorts of memes.

Seriously, after watching a number of celebrities dressed in beautiful gowns, Kim’s appearance made many remind of the American Horror story, or could name it Fashion Horror story.

Last year’s Met Gala was canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic. This year’s gathering was about a third smaller than usual with about 300 guests, with proof of vaccination required, though they did not wear masks while posing upon their arrival.

But it seems like Kim Kardashian was the only one taking the COVID protocols too seriously.

Well, that has left millions scratching their heads, what was that really all about?
