Sikh community irked with the fashion shoot at the Kartarpur Gurdwara

A recent fashion shoot at the Kartarpur Gurdwara has irked the Sikh community.

The matter was brought to light by a prominent Indian Sikh journalist, Ravinder Singh Robin on social media.

Following his tweet, the incident is receiving backlash on Twitter.

Soon after the backlash, Asher Mashwani, Focal person to CM Punjab,  responded to the matter saying, “Forwarded to concerned authorities for legal action.”

Following the backlash, the Mannat clothing has also officially apologized for hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community.

The clothing brand has issued a clarification on the matter and the Instagram page of the said brand has taken down the controversial posts.

Many social media users came forward calling out the brand and the models for being insensitive towards Sikhs.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, also condemned the act.

“Modelling at Sri Kartarpur Sahib is desecration. Pakistan court issued arrest warrant of star who did dance video at Mosque; same must be done against this woman from Lahore as an example of treating all religion at par,” he tweeted adding, “Otherwise, any talk of respect for Sikhism is hollow.”
