Black Panther 2 will hit the theaters on May 6, 2022, writer and director Ryan Coogler has confirmed the news while making an appearance on Saturday at the Walt Disney Co.’s D23 fan convention in Anaheim.
Coogler said that he was not ready to reveal a title or a plot yet for the highly anticipated sequel to “Black Panther”. “We’re not taking our time, we’re really trying to get it right,” Coogler added about the production schedule.
“Black Panther,” starring Chadwick Boseman in the titular superhero, was a massive hit when it premiered in February 2018.
The film has become a cultural phenomenon, and It grossed $700 million domestically and $1.3 billion worldwide box office, becoming the second highest-grossing Marvel movie of all time domestically, behind “Avengers: Endgame”.
