Cake The Film leaves Indians spellbound
Pakistani film Cake which made its debut on the streaming site Netflix earlier this month on 15th of May has left many of the Indians spellbound. Lately because of the political tensions there has been no cultural or film based exchange between the two countries.
The sites like Netflix help the film fans from both countries to enjoy entertainment content being produced from all across the world without any restriction.
As the film Cake made its debut on Netflix, fans from the other side of the border were able to watch it and are absolutely in love with Asim Abbasi’s debut feature film and are sharing their praises for Pakistani film on social media.

In a tweet Sait applauded the lead actors of the film Sanam Saeed, Aamina Sheikh and Adnan Malik, saying:
“I owe @NakuulMehta for recommending #Cake on @NetflixIndia Gosh! My eyes are still wet. What a great film & incredible actors. @aaminasheikh @sanammodysaeed @adnanmalik (I hope I got the right one.) The Amma and Abba are just superlative performers. #AsimAbbasi please take a bow.”
After reading her comment, Sanam Saeed was quick to respond. She replied over the tweet saying: “Ufff loving #Netflix and #Amazon for letting this cross border exchange to flourish. We get to see all these awesome web series, independent films and brilliant talent! @KubbraSait you had me spellbound in #SacredGames. So glad you got to see #cakethefilm. Thank you for your love!”
Director of the film Asim Abbasi also responded to Sait’s comments on social media.
Apart from this conversation among the stars, there are so many Indians who are applauding for cake after watching it and sharing their thoughts on social media. Its high time to realize that art and artists have no boundaries!

I saw the trailer of #Cake last year, the much acclaimed Pakistani film with a stellar cast and then I thanked the lords of @NetflixIndia and saw it yesterday. Brilliant film! Warm, crisp, family drama. Loved @aaminasheikh – new found muse! @sanammodysaeed was as usual, great!

Watched Cake on @NetflixIndia & I'm an emotional wreck. Thank you @IllicitusProduc for taking me into an absolutely disconnected yet beautiful world. A fabulous ensemble headlined by @aaminasheikh @sanammodysaeed @adnanmalik & some very special senior actors. #Cake is GOLD.
