Disney Reschedules Major Releases in the Wake of Coronavirus

One of the most impacted industries due to Coronavirus pandemic is presumably box office and Hollywood is at the forefront as cinemas across the globe remain shut down, denting the studios’ pockets. After quite a number of movies facing postponements, Walt Disney Co has also given up for good as it announced new release dates for its major flicks this year.

One of the biggest flicks, Marvel’s Black Widow which was set to hit theaters on May 1, will now be releasing on November 6 – a date earlier decided for Marvel’s The Eternals. The latter will now be hitting theaters on February 12, 2021, four months after the actual date.

Similarly, Disney has pushed back Marvel’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness on November 5, 2021, and Thor: Love and Thunder on February 18, 2022.

Furthermore, the live-action adaptation of Disney’s own Mulan which was set to release this month has now been given a date for July 24, the time when experts expect box office to be able to revive post-pandemic.

Another Disney movie’s to face postponement is Indiana Jones film which will now be gracing screens with a year’s delay in July 2022.
