Disney’s Maleficent 2 wraps production

The announcement for the upcoming film Maleficent 2 to wrap up its production came from its Director Joachim Ronning. Who took to his official Instagram account, while posting the photo of the film’s sequel crew, with a caption, “That’s a wrap on Maleficent 2 – and what a ride it’s been! A big thank you to this amazing UK crew for spending the summer with me at Pinewood Studios – so close to Heathrow, yet so far away :) I hope you all get some well-deserved time off before your next adventure”.

The creative guy behind the camera did keep posting about the last week of film shooting on his social media account.

Elle Fanning who is playing Aurora, also posted on her Instagram hinting the last day of shoot. She posted her photo sitting outside the vanity van with a caption, “Putting Aurora to sleep for now, but she’ll wake up in 2020 #Maleficent2 #LASTDAY”.

Maleficent 2 is slated for 29th May 2020 release. The star cast for the sequel includes Angelina Jolie, Ellie Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein, Jenn Murray, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, and Brenton Thwaites, who replaces Harris Dickinson as Prince Phillip.

The first film Maleficent was released in 2014, it became the fourth-highest grossing film of the year. It also provided Angelina Jolie with the biggest box-office success of her career. According to the various media reports film’s commercial performance helped to usher in other live-action remakes of Disney animated classics, including The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast. Likewise, Mary Poppins Returns is set for release later this year and Dumbo in 2019, followed by the other live-action remakes which include Mulan, Lady and the Tramp, and The Little Mermaid.
