Dune’s First Look: Timothee Chalamet leads cast in Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming sci-fi film
The first look from Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming sci-fi film Dune has been revealed.
The much-anticipated film is an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 classic novel of the same name.
From the shared images the actor, Timothee Chalamet seems to skilfully embody the inner turmoil of his character, Paul Atreides.
Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve will bring Frank Herbert’s legendary sci-fi novel to life in with not one, but two epic films say the Instagram post.
“I would not agree to make this adaptation of the book with one single movie,” Villeneuve tells V.F. “The world is too complex. It’s a world that takes its power in detail.”
Other than Timothée Chalamet, film features, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson and more in the upcoming adaptation.
Set in the distant future, the film follows the story of Paul Atreides (Chalamet), whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship to nature, as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign.
As being reported the film has not been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and will open on its scheduled US date of December 18, 2020.
