Dwayne Johnson has once again teamed up with director Jake Kasdan for Netflix’s ‘John Henry and The Statesmen”. Johnson is reported to lead an ensemble cast of the most popular figures from folklore and legend from all around the world.
Dwayne Johnson shared the teaser of his upcoming film in a tweet, captioning the post, “When the man comes around. Honored to play a childhood hero of mine, JOHN HENRY & his disruptive band of fellow folklore legends from around the world. @netflix are the perfect partners and platform to build. Directed by Jake Kasdan (JUMANJI). JOHN HENRY & THE STATESMEN”
Jake Kasdan who helmed 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, also starred Dwayne Johnson. The actor and his Seven Bucks Productions partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia are producing the project alongside Kasdan, with the help of Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo.
Dwayne Johnson in a statement told, “Netflix is the perfect partner and platform for us to continue entertaining our global audience in a disruptive way. These diverse characters speak to a legacy of storytelling that is more relevant than ever and span across a worldwide audience regardless of age, gender, race or geography.”
The Rock is super busy with his shoot schedule, he will take a few weeks off after wrapping up “Hobbs and Shaw” and before starting Jumanji 3. So it’s a big news for Jumani fans that its third part is on its way!
Thx Frost. I’ll take a few weeks off after I wrap Hobbs & Shaw, before I start Jumanji. You’re gonna dig hell outta this John Henry & The Statesmen concept dude
