Manmarziyaan: Good old dreaded love!

The trailer starts with an introduction of Vicky and Rumi; two individuals who are in fyar (lust & love) and a steamy kiss follows.  It ends with Rumi talking about sex and condoms with her aunt. It will perhaps excite many and unnerve a few. But what’s in between these shots is exhilarating for me. We’ll be seeing Anurag Kashyup’s take on young love.

And going by the trailer, we will get to see a lot of that brash attitude of Mr Kashyup channeling through the mesmerizingly good Taapsee Pannu. After gaining a lot praise for her role in Mulk, it looks like Taapsee is nailing another vastly different character. Vicky Kaushal’s character looks equally promising as the eccentric Vicky. It’s his time to fly. While, Abhishek Bachchan is making a comeback after 2 years, and that time away seemingly has done him good.

There is a dialogue for Rumi ‘ye wo wala hai jismai jitna karo na kam parta hai’. She is seemingly talking about her love with Vicky. Many will relate to this feeling of helplessness. While, you can see that you are going the wrong way, following the wrong person but are unable to stop yourself. At different stages of our lives, this emotion entraps us.

There have been many a films on this sort of love triangle. By the trailer, it does look like Manmarziyaan has something different to offer. The film releases 14^th of September.
