Nandita Das thankful to Fawad Ch. for looking into Manto’s release in Pakistan

Actor and filmmaker Nandita Das is thankful to the federal minister Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry for taking notice of her film Manto for not being release in Pakistan.

Fawad Chaudhry took to Twitter on Saturday to extend his help, saying he was trying to convince film importers to present a “less commercial film” like Manto.
It was earlier when Nandita Das showed her disappointment over Manto not being released in Pakistan She wrote about her concerns on film ban and censorship in an article for website and later shared it in a tweet.
In a tweet earlier, she has shared her statement, which said, “Disappointed that ‘Manto’ will not be seen in theatres in Pakistan. I was keen as he belongs to both countries equally”.

This led to an online petition floated by several people who wanted to help lift ban on the Manto release in Pakistan.
An online petition has been initiated to demand that Prime Minister Imran Khan lift a ban on its screening.
Nandita Das has also shared her gratitude for the people who have come forward in support of the film release in Pakistan.
