Ocean’s 8 new trailer is out, new plot of the heist at Met Gala revealed!

It seems like the film Ocean’s 8 is  going to be pure energy and fun just like the former Ocean’s trilogy films. The trailer released has provided the fans a glimpse at story plot as well as the star cast that includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina. The film is slated to release on June 8th this year.

Sandra Bullock plays Debbie Ocean in the movie, the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney), who gathers up the fierce squad of women to pull off a heist at the glamorous Met Gala; an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit.

At the beginning of the trailer, Debbie is in jail just like Danny was in the opening scene in Ocean’s 11, being questioned about being released. By looking closely at the trailer it seems like Danny is no more, Sandra (Debbie) is having a drink in front of her brother’s grave, which says he died in 2018.

It’s reported that having many similarities with Ocean’s 11, it’s not a remake or a direct sequel, to that popular 2001 film. Sandra Bullock also clarified while talking to the media, ” Oceans’8 is not even a passing of the torch. It’s a parallel story of another family member that was raised in the same family Danny Ocean was and what happens when Debbie steps out of jail with all of these amazing, powerful women.”

Danny Ocean’s sister heist plan is a reboot to the popular 2001 crime comedy Ocean’s 11 that starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and other A-listers that produced a trilogy. Ocean’s 8 is written and directed by The Hunger Games’ Gary Ross. and it will hit theaters on June 8, 2018.
