Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe is all set to star in Paramount’s upcoming thriller flick “American Son”.
The upcoming film is based on the critically acclaimed French 2009 film “A Prophet”, based on a story that follows an Arab man who is sent to a French prison, where he becomes a mafia kingpin.
Andrew “Rapman” Onwubolu will be directing this thriller, while the screenplay is written by Dennis Lehane.
As being reported, Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe are producing through Original Film.

The story of the film centers around a man, who, after falling under the control of a ruthless mobster (played by Crowe) while in prison, builds a multiracial crime syndicate, takes down his mentor, and earns a place for his crew alongside the Italian and Russian mafias.
As being reported, Paramount is yet to find the film’s protagonist.
The original film was directed by Jacques Audiard won the grand prize at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. It was also nominated for the best foreign-language film at the 2010 Oscars.
