Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium to release in China on April 4th
Saba Qamar’s Bollywood debut film Hindi Medium alongside the legendary Irfaan Khan will hit the cinemas of China on 4th of April 2018. The film is being released, following the success of Aamir Khan starrer, 3 Idiots, Dangal and Secret Superstar in the country along with the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
According to producers and distributors, Indian films that are content driver, are doing well in the Chinese market. The audience in the region is receptive to Indian films irrespective of the fact whether a film stars a big Bollywood name or not.
Hindi Medium, which looks at the ugly underbelly of the unrelenting education system in the country and stars Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar in the lead roles, is expected to ring well with Chinese audience. It seems people of China will be able to relate well with the film’s concept.
Confirming the statement is the fact that for the release of the movie Chinese authorities opted for the film’s teaser poster instead of the main poster. The producer, Bhushan Kumar for (T -series) said in his statement, “There’s a unique twist in this tale. Hindi Medium is content-driven and even though Irrfan is an internationally recognized talent, the Chinese distribution body opted for our teaser concept which shows the feet of a man, one representing poverty and the other representing material wealth.”

Hindi Medium, directed by Saket Chaudhary won the best film Filmfare award for the year 2017. The film is now releasing in China on the 4th of April over the Qing Ming holiday weekend. Lets see how much of a business it is able to rake in over the weekend and during its run in the country, considering Hindi Medium is an amazing film to watch!
