Tenet and Mulan to Reopen Pakistani Cinemas Amid Pandemic

COVID-19 is a new reality and like all businesses, cinemas are also about to resume activities keeping in mind the needful to be done. Reopening Pakistani cinemas after a six months hiatus, Disney’s Mulan and Christopher Nolan’s Tenet are all set to release this month.

Live-action Mulan will be the first film to hit theaters on September 11 as cinema houses eagerly look forward to welcome audiences and business that has gotten a severe dent in the recent break.

“No one can take any further risk given the current circumstances and this is the reason many have refused to purchase films as well. But we are hoping the success of these two films motivates the distributors to initiate their business again and allows local producers to pull up their socks,” an official from the distribution club told The Express Tribune.

Next one in line will be highly anticipated Christopher Nolan’s Tenet which stars Robert Pattinson and David Washington. The film will release in Pakistan on September 18, after it has already hit UK and US cinemas.

It’s pertinent to mention that cinema owners despite being in a tight financial spot also have a responsibility to maintain SOPs for the upcoming films. For this all precautionary measures have been taken as HKC entertainment takes up the big task as the distributor of both the films.

“Cinema owners and employees have been asked to follow all regulations and there will be minimum seats available in each cinema hall with a maximum distance between the viewers,” the distributor club official further told the publication.
