The Eternals Will Feature Marvel’s First Transgender Superhero

Marvel Studios’ upcoming The Eternals is already quite in the news for its star cast and being the first of MCU Phase 4 movies. But to add to its already peaking hype, the movie is also going to have never seen before superheroes in terms of their personal characteristics.

Earlier, it was confirmed that 2020 will see Marvel’s first Asian-American superhero in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, however, it looks like Eternals that is coming ahead of Shang-Chi has a greater offering.

The Eternals is all set to showcase Marvel’s first transgender superhero, confirmed Kevin Feige, President Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“You look at the success of Captain Marvel and Black Panther. We want the movies to reflect the audience and we want every member of our global audience to see themselves reflected on screen,” Feige had quoted previously,” Kevin Feige had earlier said.

And now when the Hollywood mogul was asked about his plans regarding the inclusion of transgender and LGBT characters in the upcoming movies, this is what he had to say.

“Yes, absolutely, and very soon. In a movie that we’re shooting right now,” revealed Feige during a Q&A at the New York Film Academy, reported BBC.

“He’s married, he’s got a family, and that is just part of who he is,” shared Feige.

As everyone knows The Eternals is the movie currently in works at MCU, one doesn’t need to be a genius to anticipate the big news. The Eternals will also have a star cast of Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington and Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani and Brian Tyree Henry.
